£40,000 - £45,000 P/ a DOE Belper 40 hours per week Days We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join an established manufacturing business. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer who enjoys hands-on engineering, fault finding and keeping production machinery running efficiently. The business is looking for someone with a solid mechanical maintenance background, ideally with some electrical knowledge. An 80/20 or 70/30 mechanical-to-electrical split would be absolutely fine, so you don't need to be an electrically biased engineer to be considered. Key Responsibilities - Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a range of manufacturing machinery and equipment. - Diagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns, ensuring production downtime is kept to a minimum. - Work on mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gearboxes, motors and other associated equipment. - Support the installation, commissioning and maintenance of new machinery. - Carry out basic electrical fault finding and repairs where competent. - Identify opportunities to improve machinery reliability and overall equipment performance. - Work closely with production teams to prioritise maintenance activities. - Ensure all work is carried out safely, following relevant health and safety procedures. - Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate effectively with the wider engineering team. Skills & Experience Required - Previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or industrial environment. - Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance experience. - Good working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and general mechanical systems. - Experience carrying out both reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance. - Relevant mechanical or engineering qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, apprenticeship or equivalent). - A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently. Desirable (Not Essential) - Electrical fault-finding experience, including three-phase systems. - PLC fault-finding or diagnostic experience. - 16th, 17th or 18th Edition electrical qualifications. - Experience installing or commissioning manufacturing equipment
