Are you an adaptable, compassionate Primary Teacher who believes education shouldn't just happen behind a desk? An exceptional Alternative Provision in the Burnley area (Woodlands School setting) is seeking an innovative, trauma-informed Primary 1:1 Teacher to start on Monday, 2nd November 2026. This unique role involves providing bespoke 1:1 teaching for a primary-aged pupil who thrives through holistic, practical engagement. Your timetable blends core classroom-based learning with experiential and therapeutic modules, including outdoor education and equine-assisted learning/therapy. Key Responsibilities: Deliver tailored 1:1 primary curriculum instruction across literacy, numeracy, and topic work. Seamlessly integrate outdoor activities and equine therapy sessions to support emotional regulation, sensory needs, and self-confidence. Design multi-sensory, creative learning interventions adapted to the pupil's developmental stage and EHCP targets. Establish a firm, trusting rapport using trauma-informed practice and positive behaviour de-escalation strategies. Work collaboratively with class leaders, therapists, equine specialists, and pastoral teams to review progress and maintain a safe, nurturing environment. The Ideal Candidate: Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification (Primary trained preferred; experienced Unqualified Teachers with exceptional SEND backgrounds considered). Proven experience supporting primary pupils with SEMH, ASC, trauma, or complex barriers to learning within an Alternative Provision, PRU, or SEND setting. Comfortable working in outdoor environments and around horses/equine therapy settings-a hands-on, practical mindset is essential. Patient, emotionally resilient, and skilled at using non-confrontational de-escalation approaches. Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to complete one prior to November). Why Join This Setting? Holistic Approach: A supportive provision that values therapeutic intervention, animal-assisted learning, and the natural environment as vital educational tools. Impactful 1:1 Work: Focus your full energy on making a transformative difference for one child without standard whole-class demands. Competitive Pay: Weekly pay via PAYE with access to free ongoing SEND, safeguarding, and de-escalation training. Accessible Location: Based in the Burnley area with on-site parking, easily reachable from Padiham, Nelson, Colne, Accrington, and the wider M65 corridor. How to Apply: If you are an energetic, creative Primary Teacher excited by a blend of classroom delivery, outdoor learning, and equine therapy, we want to hear from you.
